how to protect a case

my antec lanboy case was recently painted, and it is already starting to get cuts and scratches, it is currently bare paint, i was hoping to avoid clearcoat, but i can if necessary, is there a way to protect the paint from scratches? TIA

clearing a case is a must like a nice car... you can buff it out without getting into the actual paint... Other than that not much you can do, other than not touch it.

just out of curiosity why are you not wanting to clear the case?

Probably doesn't want to strip his case to nothing again.

But yes clear is the only way to protect the paint. Fix your scratches, lightly sand it all with 3k grit, clean it, clean it again.

Then on a nice calm non-humid day whipe the case down to get the dust off. Spray the clear, 2 or 3 coats should do you just fine; sand between coats and buff the last one.

i wanted to keep flat black flat, and i am aware that clear coat will make anything glossy, well, i fixed it, and cleared it- 2 coats, and the black is definately glossy now, which you can definately tell where the logo is and is'nt on the window(i didnt clear the black on the window btw, just took it out when i did it)

Add a couple more coats of clear then use the 3000 grit sandpaper that was mentioned! Effect: Matte Black
