Just built a comp up with following bits:

Asus p5n32-e sli
e6600 dual core
2 gig ram
400gig sata hd
8600gt xxx graphic card
silverstone gaming case

I have used both coretemp and nivida software to read cpu-system and gpu temp which was 46-32-48 on the nividia software but on core temp it read 51 for cpu.
Now which is best for results and what should i expect from a stock cooler as it seems a little high???
Also got a 120 intake fan at the front a 120 at the bck for exhaust and 2 80 exhaust at the side, any advice would b great but do have a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 coming so hopefully will help.
Also had to up to 9 from 8 on the bios to get right cpu speed is this right!!

thanks for any help

far as cpu temps, 51 is about normal for the stock cooler...a little high but for the stock its normal...best way to read the temps on the cpu is the bios since im not too familiar with the programs that read them...i usually hear most programs can be a bit off on the temps by almost 10 degrees Celsius...which can be a big difference...i got no higher than 70 C on my e6700 cpu...but thats also due to me livin in las vegas heat...(and before frying it on accident dammit)....but as far as recording the temps for gpu...well i belive the nvidia software may be spot on...not sure about that though...but as far as system and cpu temps i rely on the motherboard..ur motherboard should read it fine as i have the same one...i dont see ur cpu going much higher than 60-65 C at the max...but also have to account for room temps to affect that as well..

Use the latest version of coretemp
