New Case fan

Right now I have a silverstone 1300rpm 120mm fan. It has a decent amount of intake but im looking for a bit more since I only have one intake. Does anyone have any suggestions for REALLY good case fans that are silent but pump in mass air. Any suggestions would be appreaciated.

In my case, there was an empty space between the back of the DVD drive and the power supply.
I used a jig saw to cut a hole in the top of the case, in that empty space.
Then installed one of those Silverstones like you have.

My case has a 120MM fan in the front, and another in the rear. (And now one in the top.)
Turns out that the one I put in the top does more good than all the others combined!
When it's turned on, (I have it on a switch), none of the other ones even kick on. Including the CPU fan.
Sometimes while gaming, I'll turn all 3 of the 120's on full speed.
But even with the pair of stock 120's running WFO, the single 120 in the top keeps board temps almost as low by itself.

Conclusion ... IMHO
If you have room in the top, get your saw and go nuts on that case.
Your components will thank you.

P.S. I realize this isn't what you asked about. Just another option for you to consider.

I just remembered ....
I'm also running an 80mm Northbridge fan.
This fan could very well be the reason my CPU fan hardly ever comes on.
As it circulates air around the same general area.

What case are you using?
Your current fan how much CFM does it move?

to move ~80 CFM, 120mm case fans typically are ~25-30dBA. Now you can get 110 CFM fan but the noise goes up to ~35-40+dBA.

Try the Vantec 120mm fan. It starts out at the 1300rpm that you have now and can be ramped up to 2200rpm at 12.X+ VDC.

hhehe that is the fan I had exactly in mind. I find its pretty quiet for the speed its going at. Well thanks for all your help and suggestions.

If it's available and the cost isn't too much, then ALWAYS get double ball bearing. Double ball will give the best run life, least amount of noise issues, and easy to start at lower voltages.

Sleeved bearing is the worst and has the shortest life. These can seize up at a moments notice.

Hydro-bearing is alright, but not every company uses the same design for hydro-bearing. Therefore, life and noise are hard to determine between brands.
