Fan Arrangement on ThermalRight Ultra 120

My new CPU cooler supposed to be here tomorrow (Thur 3rd). I have 2 Ultra whisper quiet med to low CFM 120 MM fans, 1 Vantec Stealth 53 CFM fan, and the ThermalTake Thunder blade 73 CFM (prefer to remove the thunderblade for noise reasons).

What I'm wondering; is it going to be better to put the Stealth on the CPU cooler (faced to blow the heat out the rear of the case), or put the Stealth on the back of the case and an Ultra on the CPU cooler? I'm thinking Stealth 53 CFM on the CPU cooler.

If the Stealth is really stealthy later on I'm going to get 2 more (but right now if any more parts come through the door I might be going out the door lol)

What case do you have? With the Ultra 120 you're going to want the 120mm fan on the cooler, the 53mm fan will cover less than half the cooling fins and may not even come close to blowing on the heatpipes themselves.

Best bet would be 120 on the cooler and a 120 for the case exhaust, use the 53 as a front intake until you can get another 120.

This is of course a suggestion as I don't know what case you have, either way the 120 should be on the cooler.

Edit:
Duh, looking at your sig I see you have the Ultra Grid case, 120's front and back (looks like it comes with 120 in the back), 120 on the cooler. With the Height of the Ultra 120 you may need to ditch any fans on the side panel as well as the cpu intake duct (if you haven't already).

I ditched the air intake tube and have a 80mm Antec on the blow hole, I'll have to ditch it for the new cooler. I never did like blow hole fans much anyway, seem to suck dust onto the cpu fan. My bad their all 120mm fans(Except blow hole), one is 53 CFM (Cubic Feet Minute). Probably use the 53 CFM on the cooler.

I also have a Sidewinder 2 case, and an Antec Soho server full tower. The Sidewinder is pretty, the soho has more room (weighs 45 LBS), I'm thinking window the Soho server, paint it purple metal flake, orange flame overlaid. Car shop owes me a few favors so I think when I do my next build I'm going into the modded Soho for the extra room.

Well after a week of waiting Fedex failed to deliver my Thermalright ultra 120. I was here yesterday all day working but apparently I wasn't home. The Vantac Stealth fan came in UPS, I am impressed with the Stealth 120mm fan. I hooked it up to a bench power supply, held it in my hand about 2 feet from my head and couldn't hear it run. At 53 CFM that's pretty good. Of course I am a little hard of hearing from firing mortars and artillery in the Army, but that's not in the hearing range that was affected.

Whisper quiet so provided Fedex actually comes up to the door this time (I put a sign in the window for him) I should have my almost silent PC back TODAY :supz:

I hate it when the peoples try and deliver parts and give up even when someone is in. One time we didn't even get a card, but looking at the online tracking it said they had already attempted a delivery!

Happens all the time here Dan, I get 95% of all deliveries cause I work from here. Occasionally I see the online tracking say "Delivery Exception" usually FedEx and it's listing a time when I was home. What gets me is it rarely happens with customer parts it's always my parts for one of my machines. What's a guy to do you can't get high end parts locally very often.

I got the ThermalRight Ultra 120 in, put the Vantec stealth on it, spent an hour trying not to slip off the spring mounting screws and punch a hole in the mobo, got it installed and it does an amazing job. The Artic Silver 5 has broken in now and it idles at 31-32 loads at 40-41, not bad for dissipating 165w thermal energy. My only beef with it is that on AMD AM2(+) boards it mounts sideways. Facing video or power supply. Not a big deal I guess, I liked it enough I got the ThermalRight 80 MM NB cooler shortly after. Will look good having matching CPU and NB cooler. Then I can break the 220FSB barrier without using weird measures.
