My 4 Pin fan adapters came in last night. These should allow me to control all my fans with the Sentry.

I also ordered my new PSU. Went with everyones recommendation of the Corsair 620HX. Should be here by Monday.

getting the modding bug now with everyone doing stuff to their rigs. Think it's getting close to time to tear down my system and let it live in the server cabinet without a case for a few weeks while I get busy on it.

I'm at the office this morning. The guard called me yesterday and said my package (the PSU) had arrived but I can't find it. :(

I guess I'll have to wait until he gets here this morning to unlock the mail room.

Ok, I'm about to order my water cooling parts. A few questions.

1.) Coolent. What should I use? What are my color choices? I'm thinking that since the interior of the case is going to be bathed in blue LED light a red colored coolent would contrast nicely, particularly if it's UV reactive.

2.) How often do I have to change the coolent?

3.) T-Line or Res? What's the diffrences and which is better?

Right now my parts list looks like this:

Swiftech Appogee GT Water Block
Switftech MCP655 Pump
Swiftech MCR320 Tripple Radiator
6' Tygon anti-bacterial 1/2" ID tubing
10 Worm Gear hose clamps
Tube Artic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

just use distilled water, the tubing is opaque so colors will do nothing but waste your money ;) if you want you can get some anti corresive additives, but not really necesary. Tlines will give you slightly better performance, but res's are much easier, and since you have no shortage of room in your case its not really worth it to go t-line. if your lazy you can get away with not changing coolant for a long time. (like me :P ) and BTW: get more tube, you wont regret it

Like he said, distilled water and a bit of anti corresive additive is what I use just to be safe, besides it keeping stuff from growing in the loop over time.

As for "T" line or rez, I like a rez better just because it's easier, I've run both types on my loops and there wasn't a different in performance that was measurable (even at max OC's)

I'd order a bit more tubing though, it's better to be safe than sorry, with one bad cut with 6', you'll be screwed and have to order more.......................

As for draining and flushing, it's pretty safe to go up to a year with a system that doesn't have mixed metals in the loop, but I'm into max performance and flush mine every few months or so.

I was under the impression the hose came in transparent models as well like this.

That was one of the things I was looking foward to with the water cooling, the look of the liquid in the tubes.

You will want to change the anti-bacterial tygon to the regular stuff then.

The antibacterial stuff is silver lined so that stuff can't grow on it (and the lack of light also helps keep them nasty free).

The regular stuff has part number R3603 if it helps.

If the water is destilled and I ad an UV reactive anti bacterial solution I should be pretty well off correct?

And there's no improvement by using Ethyl Glycol or anti-freeze?

Anti-freeze actually reduces the cooling performance of water...I'm no expert but you might look into is WaterWetter, I forget where I read about it though...I've actually got a Feser triple rad on the way (yes there will be pics) so I've been doing a bit of research and this thread has been a huge resource, you've asked a lot of the questions I would have had to ask in the near future

Oh, great, now it's a race! :finga:

I was looking at this stuff. It's UV reactive, antibacterial, and claims to be dielectric.

*** EDIT ***

Am I going to be OK with just the Apogee GT or should I get the GTX? There's a pretty good price diffrence.
