I'm considering a NZXT Sentry LX fan monitor for my next system build. I see that it comes with the ability to monitor several temperatures on the system. I'm wondering if I can mount those to the back of the motherboard, instead of the face. That way they would be hidden between the motherboard and the motherboard tray.
Can this be done and be fairly accurate? Has anyone tried this before?

IMO temperature probes are pretty useless just about all hardware that generates substantial heat already has an internal temperature sensor, not to mention that the outboard ones are usually inaccurate no matter where you put them

Ok, so they're pretty useless, but they're part of the fan controller I'm using ANYWAY. That being said, am I going to loose a ton of accuracy (greater than 10C) by putting them on back of the motherboard? How about putting one on the radiator?

putting one in the rad isnt such a bad idea, nor is dipping one into the water via the t-ineSkippman wrote:Ok, so they're pretty useless, but they're part of the fan controller I'm using ANYWAY. How would I go about putting it in the T-Line? I'm going to be using a NZXT Sentry LX fan controller. If I could wire it into my water loop, I would do so without hesistation just to keep an eye on liquid temps.

If you have metal connectors in your lines you could secure it to the outside of those. They should have a very close temp to the water temp.
