8800gt cooling fan needed

Well since folding@home has started to kill the poor stock setup, i am looking for something better to put on this 8800gt card. I might use one for the gso card also, but I think the stick is doing fine so far on that one.
I have been reading about some of the coolers, but people are still looking at 60-70C when run at 100%. I would like to stay on the LOW side of the 60c range if possible, since i am running the fan at 100% on the stock cooler and am hitting 77C right now
Would anyone have some good recommendations for me? I dont want to spend a total fortune, since this card is already outdated

Thanx again
Mike
noise doesnt really matter to me on this system ,since it is loud right now anyway

Second for the S1.
Watch out for the S2, it might not have the thermal capacity to cope with the 8800GT.

That is the one i have been reading about to buy, but they say to get the fans also. Seems regular 120mm fans wont attach very nicely to it..?? Something about having to zip tie it to attach it. I have 120mm and 80mm fans here, so I might not buy the turbo fan setup for it until I see if what I have I can get to work on it.
Mike
Plus it is hard to find in stock at places too!! and it is HUGE..lol
Anyone have a place it is in stock at?

I will probably buy one this weekend or early next week.

Yeah, they'd be right in that you'd have to ziptie fans to it if you don't get the turbo module cooler they sell for it.
A single 120mm fan will cool the S1 rather well.

Maybe for the extra $10, I will buy the turbo fan set, just in case ;) Cheaper to buy it at the same time as the S1 because of shipping!
Mike
would REALLY like to go water but its just so much to lay out up front.

I had an HR-03 GT on my 8800GT before I sold them both. It did wonders! I think my temps went down from 70-ish to 30-ish.

Temps are getting close to 80C now and our income tax return is in the error department at the IRS, so it will be a couple weeks before i can get a new cooler - well I might see if she will let me get one before that, but she is worried about her job now, so I dunno if she will let me spend the money or not ;)
Mike
Will have to read about the HR-03 GT - that is a hell of a drop!

S1 with a 1x120mm or 2x100mm fans or Vf-900 are both good.
My reference 8800GT maxes out at ~67C when folding @ 60% fan speed. Ensure you have good air flow.

60% sounds like a wind tunnel...
