Cooler Master 1000W PSU Fails - RSA00-EFAM-A3

I just wanted to let everyone know that my ~8 month old Cooler Master Real Power ESA RSA00-EFAMA3-US 1000W 80 PLUS Certified power supply died this afternoon... I had the system sitting at idle and I was in the other room watching the Kentucky Derby and heard it pop. No smoke, no smell, no power... Got me on this one, but it's a brick:

As always I want out readers to know what breaks and how often! Funny, it got me thinking about ESA again... What ever happened with NVIDIA's ESA standard?

If your not gonna RMA it, crack it open and take some pics, I'm sure we have some EEs around the forums that might be able to tell what went wrong. Nate do you bench with this? High loads will always expose the weakest components.

Yeah this is my primary systems PSU, but it's under warranty and I've already e-mailed Cooler Master to get it swapped out. (meaning not going to crack it open)

Got in the replacement PSU today...

Looks like the Cooler Master 1000W PSU (RSA00-EFAM-A3) will be replaced by the COOLER MASTER UCP RSB00-AAAAA3 1100W, which is an 80 plus silver certified power supply! I'll post up some more pics in a new thread.
