Case fans direction

Post by Inclyne »

Hi all.
Just wanted to kno how I should place my fans? I have two places to mount my fans at the back of my case. (One is directly below the other) Should both blow inwards, both blow outwards or one in one out?

Fans in the back of the case generally blow outwards (vent) whereas the front of the case generally has fans that suck air in. This keeps a continuous airflow through the case.

To expand on what FZ1 said it usually is like this:
Front of case - intake
Side of case - intake
Back of case - exhaust
Top of case - exhaust

The one thing I might add is that it helps to the air "into" the case slightly higher than "out of" the case. This "Positive Pressure" helps keep out the dust. "Negative Pressure" makes your case act like a vacuum cleaner. :P
