Just wondering how accurate are these things? Im looking at
http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
Seems like the peak wattage numbers are a little low. maybe its cause i dont have any other pci cards/only 2 HDDs
Radeon 5850
Phenom II x4 925 or 965BE (not sure yet)
4GB DDR3 (2x XMS3 2GB)

What was the result it gave you? The link you posted only goes to their main page.
I'll post some of my systems to see what you think. Note - Added 10% Capacitor Aging.
Rig 1:
Phenom X3 8450
2GB DDR2
3x160GB WD 7200 RPM RAID 0
ATi HD 5450
PCI Wireless Card
4 Case fans
Result: 266W - Nice since I have an Antec 350W running the machine.
Rig 2:
CoreDuo E5200 @ 4GHz
4GB DDR2
1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1
8800 GTS 320MB
Hauppauge HD TV Tuner
SATA DVD Burner
PCIe 1x eSATA card
5x120MM Case Fans
1x140MM Case Fan
USB Wireless NIC
Result: 438W - Running on a OCZ ModXStream 600W
Rig 3:
Core2Quad Q9550 @ 3.75GHz
4GB DDR2
3x1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1 RAID 0
1x750GB Samsung Spinpoint F1
GTX 260+
SB X-Fi Titanium Fata1ity
SATA DVD Burner
4x120MM Case Fans
1x92MM Case Fan
Fan Controller
Swiftech H20-220 Kit
Result: 547W - Running on a Corsair TX 650

372 Watts, 2 fans(1 case 1 cpu), 15% capacitor aging. I guess im a little unsure as i see most people recommending at least 650W for a system with a card that needs 2x pci-e power connectors and 850 watts for a dual gpu setup
I tried going more high end, with high speed sata drives, crossfired 5850s, overclocked 965BE @ 3.8 Ghz, lots of fans, 6 USB devices and got 779 Watts. So i guess its just because i dont have many peripherals

The estimates from that site actually have some overhead. My only complaint about them is they lowered the power consumption estimate for hard drives. The new values actually reflect what drives would consume during normal operation but it doesn't take into account initial start-up surge. I wouldn't trust their estimates for storage servers but they're pretty good for normal builds.
Just to give you an idea:
Core i3-530 @ stock
2x2GB DDR3
WD10EADS
XFX GT 240 512MB GDDR5
1x120mm fan
100% TDP, System Load: 100%, Capacitor Aging: 0
Minimum PSU Wattage: 174W
Recommended PSU Wattage: 224W
Actual Power Consumption:
boot: 80W
idle: 45W
CPU Load: 95W
GPU Load: 120W
CPU+GPU Load: 150W
