well my thuban doesn't like overclocking anymore since the VRM's flamed out on my 890GPA-UD3H, so i'm going to stay on LGA775 and sell my thuban rig (it still loves 3.6GHz at minimal voltage though) Ordered the EVGA 750i SLI board without the heatpipe NB/VRM/SB assembly so I can use a NB pot which is also en route (and the 750i FTW is out of stock at EVGA)

parts I will be using:

EVGA 750i SLI (8-pin ATX, 4x DDR2 800 slots, native Core2Quad support, 45nm support via BIOS flash)
Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066 CL5 2x1GB
ECS GeForce GTX 460 1GB good till 965MHz (via BIOS flash to modify vGPU limit to 1.212v from 1.087v)
CPU is undecided, may be an E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz, or the Pentium4 3.4GHz or 3GHz, or maybe another entirely, need to find out the max allowable vCore on the 750i

my 12", 2" dia copper pipe CPU pot -home made

6GB (2x2) + (2x1) Matching CL5 DDR2 1066MHz 2.1v

and problemo

the backplate doesn't fit either because of hitting the backplate from the main pot

first specimen since it's been a while since clocking 775 with a decent chip

at some point I think i will have to bump the voltage above the VID, not yet though.

this board is very generous with RAM dividers, and RAM runs great as long as its around 1025 or lower and under 2.050v
