I have been getting some errors on my mobo error log...I have an Abit IS7mobo, p4 3.4, 2 gigs or ram...2hds, 2 opticals, ati 9700 AIW, sound card, couple fans... I just put in the 3.4 (up from 2.4) and another 1gig of ram. I have anAntec True550W psu. I figure i have plenty of juice to run everything... Here is my error log from when i put the new stuff in. I read that the PWM is ok to run around 95C...it can get up to about 120C and be ok on the Abit IS7. Thanks all for taking a look and helping out.

All your voltages look like they're within range (+/- 10%). have you checked your CPU fan to make sure it's running? I saw quite a few messages where it wasn't reading it. If it isn't, then that would explain the last few temp posts where it shot up sky high, but another thing too is that the onboard diag chip could be going as well (assuming it has one, like MSI CoreCell, for example). Are all your BIOS settings good to go as well? Really the only thing I would know to be wrong are those things.

teh cpu fan is working properly...i dont know why it shows it not running. the first time i saw that i just about crapped my pants. i looked in the case and the fan is spinning fine.
What is the "onboard diag chip"? i never heard of that. and what do you mean by my "bios settings good to go"? I updated the bios with the latest version. it reads everything that i put in.
Thanks for the help!!

if i were you, I would first of all check the new memory with memtest3.2 to make sure your new modules are ok. you have the problems since you put in the new CPU and mem. I just had to RMA a stick of ram second time in 4 months. my system was going wacko from the faulty memory module, so check it before anything else.

actually, I meant it as an onboard monitoring module (monitors system temp, CPU temp, fan RPM, etc, and has software that works with it to see all this info in Windows rather than just in the BIOS). What I meant by make sure your BIOS settings were good to go is make sure that your memory FSB is where it needs to be for the amount of voltage going to the modules. In essence, what I was meaning, and asking, is about the extent to which you tested your system, that's all, lol. Sbohdan is right on the money though, use memtest to make sure there aren't any errors in your memory, usually that can tell you what it is from the get-go.bigblockmatt wrote:teh cpu fan is working properly...i dont know why it shows it not running. the first time i saw that i just about crapped my pants. i looked in the case and the fan is spinning fine.
