CoolerMaster V8 GTS

Post by camaroguy1998 »

I'm hopeful but, really don't expect much....
On one of the builds I did some years ago, I used a CoolerMaster V8 GTS Air Cooler!
Its now about 7 or 8 yrs old and one of the fans is rattling!
So far my search has come up empty!
If anyone has one of these coolers laying around, I'm interested in it!
The fans on this cooler are pretty much one of a kind!
They are 140mm but the frame is designed to only fit this cooler! :x
I did replace it with another cooler but, would consider putting it back in if I can find a fan(s)!
It was a beast of a cooler, at the time probably one of the best you could buy!
I have found a couple coolers for sale(new) but, they want $130 to $232 USD!

I have put in a ticket with CoolerMaster support to see if any fans are available! Hoping!

You should be able to replace them with any fan the same size, it doesn't have to have a round case. I think I read they are 140x140x25 or 20 - cant remember (even though I JUST looked it up...getting old, put me down lol).

Of course it will look nicer with the round shroud and the middle shroud may not fit with square fans...Hopefully CoolerMaster has some!

being legacy doubt Cooler Master will have anything laying around.

Its a odd fan being round, LED, and Low profile (20mm).

I had an OG V8 cooler until about a month ago (moving purge, didn't even realize I had the thing lol), but the fans for that are not the same as the GTS.

Knightrid...Yes they are 140x140x20 But, A square frame fan will not work!
They are round frame with only 2 screw attachment points at the top and a Tab/Slot bottom attachment point!
And as Bubba pointed out they are Red LED, which Im not concerned about!
The fan frame/shroud is also concave/convex depending on which way you look at it!

They are One of a Kind fans! ](*,)

Bubba....I was hopeful but, not expecting much from CoolerMaster! I realize the cooler/fans are several years old!
With that said, 2 days in and still No Reply from CoolerMaster! :(
I'm starting to regret my replacement part, yeah its a CoolerMaster....simply bcuz of the lack of support!
At least the new cooler uses a standard type fan!

I'm thinking some ANTEC TriCool fans will be a great addition to the coolermaster cooler! :finga:

Hmmm, I thought the top mount points would use the standard frame screw holes :(

Can you dissect it and replace just the actual fan an reuse the housing?

Well, after checking into shipping and pricing my hopes dropped off!
Final price with shipping would be around $70 USD
Thinking probably not worth the cost. I can buy a good cooler for less money!

I appreciate the offer!
I will keep it in mind but, even at $50 its hard to justify!
Yeah, shipping was almost twice the price of the fans!

so coolermaster have responded with " have stock of both front and rear fans on our EU site that ships to US. i explained the route cost onwards of $70 and is not viable and if they know of another fan that could be used to help reduce the cost.

again coolermaster replied and have said they cant do anything for the shipping cost and can only say that and round 140mm fan that is 20mm depth can replace the fan. so after looking around the 140mmx20mm fan cant be found as a round one :(. i can find a 25mm one many of but too big :(

First off...Thank you for going "Above and Beyond" Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Second, must be nice to have a Company respond so well! I have still not heard back from CoolerMaster USA!
A 25mm fan is not going to fit, the 20mm thats in there is a tight fit! Even being round the frame is still not the same!
Third...I did a little checking of my own!
I have InLaw relatives in Germany and asked about shipping from there and they came back with pretty much the same thing.
Shipping costs are what they are, no getting around them!
With that said, I will be keeping my eyes open but, I'm going to let this go!
I can buy a brand new one for $130USD which means a decent AIO water cooler is in that price range!
For the same cost.....

Well, yesterday I received an email(FINALLY) from CoolerMaster Support!
They asked why I needed new fans and for pictures of my current fans!
I sent them a couple pics and a description of my issue!

Not sure if I should have any hope but, Now I hope that they will send me some new fans for free! :)
Not really expecting much but, Hopeful again!

Something I learned while going through this deal.
The 2 fans are different from each other!
The fans are proprietary Left & Right!
They will only work correctly in the position they are supposed to be in!

Ok, its been a few weeks and....Yeah, CM is not going to be any help!
I was told if they are under warranty they will help but, if the warranty is expired I can contact the CM Store and see if they have any!
CM Store response.... "No Stock" probably will not be in stock....I'm guessing ever!
