Disk drive cooling kits

Post by daschneider »

I hear the Raptor drives run pretty hot. Has anyone tried any of the disk cooling kits and do they work well? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

it costs less and works better just to use some rubber bands and an 80mm fan.

And much, much quieter than those miserable 40mm fans that are in some of those enclosures.

Depending on your case configuration you may be able to mount the hd in the path of the air intake on the front of your case. Then add a fan with a filter to help with the cooling and keep the dust bunnies out. 8)

I got the antec p180 case. mounted a 120mm fan right infront of them for intake to the case and air over them. works great.
