Airflow?

Recently someone on here (thier name escapes me at this time) posted that someone should try pulling smoke into thier PC to check thier airflow. I was wondering what kind of smoke he was talking about? I thought about trying dry ice + water for some fog but the possiblity of condensation concerns me.

Maybe stick it behind a smoking car?
Seriously though, I don't know.

Niccotean sticks to everything. Used to have to clean so many PC's when customers would bring them in.
When I ran my computer store we had one customer who had thier PC installed in a Honey Baked Ham shop. Man, that thing was gummed up good but it smelled delicious.
Wonder if I could use one of those smoking fountian things?

I'm not suggesting anyone start smoking...........trust me I know how niccotine sticks to everything (I'm a smoker)
If you have a UV light, you should easilly see the smoke......
You could try a small smoke bomb, but they stain even more and you'd have to do it outdoors.........
Normally it's a safer bet to have negative air pressure in the case. ie. have more air been sucked out.

That's what I'm hoping to acomplish. Do you see anything wrong with the dry ice plan? I also considered a smoke machine but that might be to destructive as well.

Dry ice should be fine, as it's only CO2. Just don't use too much or it will condense....but even if it does, it will evaporate........To be safe, I wouldn't power on the pc, just jump-start the psu to get the fans running.
You can use dry ice for other DIY computing projects, don't you know.....

I'm NOT going to dry ice cool my PC :D
I'm having a hard time getting myself to WATER cool. As for running the fans, some of them are run of the mobo header. I'll have to get 4 pin adapters I guess.

I was probably the one that said it. And I have a candle that puts out ALOT of smoke when you blow it out.. that's what I did. Definetly not tobacco smoke.
