hey guys. I thought I'd get your opinion on computer cases. When i build this summer (crossing my fingers), I want to get a really nice case for my money. Ive been browsing on Newegg and I really like the look and reviews that the Themaltake cases get. Any of you guys have thermaltake cases? Or do any of you have a really sweet case that wasnt overly expensive? sorry, I just want to get the best possible case

What price range are you looking at?

As you can see, I have an AeroCool CoolView mid tower.

My friend has a Thermaltake Tsunami. That case is pretty big and looks great.

I have a Z-Alien that is really big inside. It's tooless, has two 120 fan holes, temperature guage, plenty of front panel ports.

Directron has a couple of them here.

NZXT Lexa here.

I think it wins for looks. Cooling covered by 5 fans. very good.

Yea i really like both the tsunami and the NZXT cases. Thermal take has really nice looking cases too. I dont want to spend over 125-150 for a case. I may need to tho. well if im going to build a computer, why not go all out so it lasts a looong time. hmmmm

Yeah, that's the one. That case is really sturdy and roomy.

I had the Lexa case for my media PC. It's ok. I hate when they stick the USB ports on the bottom - or in this case, bottom side.

Funny story (not), I had a 1GB memory stick in that case and was messign with an OC. I had to lay the case on it's side to move the CMOS jumper and snapped the damn stick right off.

I had a TT shark at one time, pretty nice cae with nice features and plenty of room to work with.

i dont recommend u get the one with a PSU. buying a seperate PSU is better since PSU supplied with cases usually suck unless its Antec.

Yah, its a pain to pull the CMOS jumper, i had to remove my sound and vid card. later i found out if u hold down Insert when power on it resets CMOS

yea i was looking at the shark last night. seems like a pretty nice case. So you recommend that I buy the powersupply seperate from the case? See I would have thought that you just get the powersupply w/ the case to make it easier.

i used to have a tsunami dream.... i ended up hating that bastard. it was such a pain in the ass (the case... not my computer).

i highly advise you to spend the extra $50 and get the lian li v1000 case. it's gorgeous, light, sleek, brilliant, etc. i love the hell out of it.

I'm thinking of getting that Lian Li case.........the v1000 or I may go all out and get the PC-201A which can hold 12 HDD's

--> perfect for a watercooled file server.....

no the PSU's usually bundled with the cases suck. (unless its antec) so i would get a case and a PSU seperately.

Agreed.

You should look at the OCZ GameXstream 700W... LR gave it a good review in the PSU roundup.
