New PSU?

Hey guys. I'm looking to upgrade the video card in my Dell 8300. I currently have a Geforce FX5200 128mb agp card, and I want to get like a Geforce 6800 or something around that price range. I want something that is PCI, and has 256mb ram onboard. Now, I want to be able to do this w/o having to get a new PSU or case fan or w/e. I really dont know what kind of PSU i have now, I just know that it is the standard Dell PSU and case fan. Now, If I were to upgrade a videocard for instance, would power and cooling become an issue for me? I definately dont want anything to happen to this computer, but I want to be able to play more high-end games.
Help?

If your getting a PCI card, you won't need to upgrade the PSU.
After a v-quick search, it looks like an ATI 9250 or Gefore FX5200 are your best bet.......they 5200 isn't worth it IMO -> not sure about the ATI card....

I have an FX5200, Im looking to get something more faster, and able to handle more games. My Fx 5200 can handle HL2 and CS:S, but I'm going to be shopping for new games soon. I was thinking like a gamer value card like a 7300 or a 7600 GT. Not sure tho. So If im just upgrading the card i SHOULDNT need a new PSU. Ok that was my only concern, now i just need a decent card under 150$

You say you have a AGP card, yet want to get a PCI graphics card? Did you mean that?

they board supports AGP only, you cannot put in a PCI-E card.

wow, I can get the SAME card as i posted above in AGP for MORE money... Does anyone have an AGP card that they love?
Im open for suggestions..

If you are looking for cards around that price range, i would recommend getting a
X800GTO they're better than the card you were looking at.

Both of those look nice. I was looking at gainwards not to long ago, but do you know if i can buy directly from gainward? It doesnt even list the price at gainward.
But If I were to get a high-performance AGP card, would cooling become and issue? In the reviews for that AGP Geforce 6800XT a guy said that the box of the card states that the card shouldnt be used in a system w/ less than a 500w PSU. Im almost positive I dont even have a 400w PSU.
I have a fear of overheating

When I said you don't need to upgrade the PSU......I tought you were getting a PCI card not AGP.
Since your getting an AGP card.......You must upgrade the PSU
A 5200 doesn't draw much power (about the same as a PCI gfx card)
The newer AGP cards not only draw more power from the AGP slot, but they require an extra power connection from the PSU (Like current PCIe cards)

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... Yea thats what I figured.. I was afraid this was going to happen. Oh well. I think if might be worth my time to just get a completely new case w/ more than one case fan and a 500-600w PSU.
And THEN upgrade my card.
Im sure Dell didnt intend for this computer to be upgraded a lot, if at all. Thats one of the downsides to not building your own comp. A BIG downside.

~5mins.........Very easy.......the fan and the case have four holes that line up and all you need is a screwdriver and some screws.........just make sure the pc is powered off, incase a screw falls onto the gfx card etc.

Look for the X850PRO..maybe XT...anyways on the ATi webstore hear it was goin for 150 bucks few weeks back.
as far as PSU. the newer Dells have ATX PSU's i'd recommend a Fortron Source 400w-500w PSU for about 50 bucks on newegg. very good PSU's
