I've just got my new GFX Card block :)

Sorry for the bad quality pics, my camera is "brown bread" (ie. "dead" to those in the US), so I had to use my phone.

I've yet to install this, but I'll post back on how it works out!

No more (poxy) fan noise 8)

Of course ;)
I'm testing for leaks now. I use "compression fittings" on my loop......they NEVER leak.........so I should have some numbers in an hour or so.'

Dunno, it could be the CPU not seated correctly, the gpu block is shorting something or I might have broken it :?

I have today off work, but I'm only back from town (shopping etc)
I'll have a look at it after dinner.

Oh I also got myself a new Camera......So I can post some proper pics........lets hope it's pics of it working [-o<

I wouldn't think that the block would be shorting something, those are some pretty high quality blocks and have been out for a while now. Lets just hope that it's something simple that you overlooked......... :mrgreen:

Well.........I've just stripped it down, re-applied TIM etc.

It still won't boot! :(
The two red LED's on the card stay lit, they normally power off just after I turn it on. I get no video signal, only my fans and pump power on.
I've reset the bios incase --> still squat.

I don't have the patience to strip it back down again........but I can't see how it could be dead :?
I also don't have any other card to test with, I gave away my x300 and my poor old mx200 pci card is dead too.
Why do I have this rotten luck with hardware??
Geforce 4 Ti 4400 = dead (dodgy volt-mod)
Lanparty Expert = Dead (mysteriously)
4400+ = Dead (mysteriously)
Opty 170 = Dead (same time expert board went)
1GB GSkill ddr500 = dead (same time expert board went)
7800GTX = Dead (got this x1900 in part exchange)

And now a x1900xtx ](*,)

The ironic thing is, I got the gpu cooler mainly to reduce noise....now there's no PC noise @ all :sigh:

I spoke too soon! It's alive :)

I was too lazy to strip it down again, so I tried booting with one stick of ram....and it booted :)
I've re-entered by old OC settings in the bios and now it's working (with both sticks of ram in)

I'll update you all with results very soon!

Wow, that sucks. Maybe a bad PSU killed them all.

Well everything has run perfect since the expert board died......wierd ehhh?
The only problems I've had since was the user :oops:

Looks like you were spot on Bio ;)

I'm currently running 700Mhz on the GPU (650 is default)
I have to re-apply some AS5 to the CPU as it's running 57C under load :shock: (gpu = ~49C)

Glad to hear that you're up and running again........ :) Make sure that you check out eack component 100% before you get into any high-end OC'ing....... :rolleyes:

So far this is my highest!
VGPU = 1.5v (1.4v default)
GPU = 725MHz (650 default)
Mem = 823Mhz (775 default)
I haven't changed any memory voltages yet.

I'll test for temps now, as I've re-applied some AS5 to the cpu and things are looking a bit better.
