Does Bad Axe 2 Require aftermarket chipset cooling?

I would like to know if my mobo will need north/southbridge cooling, suggestions from bad axe 2 owners and other knowledgeble folks are welcome. I'll be ordering all the parts for my new system (see signature) from newegg next week, and would like to pick everything up at all once if possible. If the board does require cooling, what would you guys suggest?

not it has a rather beefy passive cooler. It'll do fine. My P5B-E has a smaller cooler and I can hit 430FSB no problem. yes its rather hot, but you won't have to worry, unless your doing really high OCs

Ahh, i forgot to mention overclocking. Yes, i will be doing some moderate overclocking, i probably wont go past 2.7 or 2.8 Ghz. Will that require chipset cooling?

I'm not sure i understand the question, you must excuse me, this is my first build and i'm not as tech savyy as some others folks here. Can you restate your question please?

I'd get a 50mm or 60mm fan and attach it to the factory heat sink... It won't void your warranty and the fans cost less than $3.
Measure it and see what size you'd want to use. At 400MHz FSB the heat sink does get very warm.

Interesting suggestion, i dont know how to attach fans to heatsink, but i'm sure i'll will figure it out. Do 50mm and 60mm fans get loud? Can anyone recomend a good fan manufacturer?
I personally intend to replace my stock gigabyte LED 120mm case fans with Antec Tricool LED 120mm fans or TT's A2018 fans, because they are decnet quiet fans, but i dont know if these companies make good smaller fans, so thats why i'm asking for a recomendation.

Oh, thats simple enough to answer. All that info is in my previous posts and signature, this is why i was kinda puzzled by your question. No biggie.
Here it is again, planning to get E6600 and overclock to 2.7 or 2.8, not planning to go past that. Not big on OCing but just want try it out.

As for attaching the 40mm or 60mm fan, think duct tape and zip ties!! (Cheap car repair joke) I'm just saying some jury rigging with rubber bands and/or wires (preferably covered so as not to short anything) would do the trick. Just because we say attach does not mean with style!!
Good luck with your BX2, judging by the Bible that has been written in the Intel Mobo forum, you may encounter some fun stuff. The .3-.4 oc shouldn't raise your temps much at all man.

Thanks for the advice gamble! Thats what i'll o if i get a 50mm fan. Or I'll use Antec Spot Cool, its also good for northbridge plus my vid cards will get some cool air as well.
Also what do mean by "fun stuff"? Am i in for some bad surprises? And where can i find the Bible?

oh, yea, i've seen them in here in the mobo section. Still this board has less problems than any other 975x board, thats why i chose it.
