Recommended Case?
I am going to be buying components for my new system soon and wondering what case i should go for... i would have
Processor: Intel Quad Core Q6600
Motherboard: EVGA nForce 680 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 or intel D975XBX2
Memory: Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (or some other memory)
Graphic Card: Geforce 8800GTX 768MB PCI-E
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
DVD-RW
3.5"
Basically my main criteria for the case is it can in fact fit everything (so i assume full tower), cool (as in good fan setup with case), and quiet.
Price isnt that much of an issue (within reason say 300 dollars/220 euro with no psu)
I was thinking of buying the PSU seperate from the case to ensure you end up with a good quality one.

hey CMcguire! check out the offerings at Antec's B-Stock. I got my P180 case from them and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it! http://www.antec.com/us/pro_b_stock.php
at $79.00 it sure beats newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811129154
but check out their specs on it, and i'm too lazy to post to the LR review on it but its in the articles.
might not be what you're looking for, but its a good starting point if you dont like it!

Do you plan on being semi-portable for LAN parties? If so, then weight is something to consider.
For me I never plan on taking my main rig to a LAN party so I went with the Thermaltake Armor. Lots of space and the whole front is basically open so you get lots of air. I will say that the little half-doors are a slight inconvenience, but you get used to them.

Edit: fixed spelling, because I suck...

I also have the p180. i love it. it is a little heavy, but i still take it to LAN's
comp specs- too lazy to make a cool looking sig... MB:GIGABYTE GA-MA790XT-UD4P, AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition 2.8Ghz, CORSAIR TW3X4G1333C9DHX 4GB PC3-10666, ASUS Radeon HD 4870 512MB, SB audigy gamer, WESTERN DIGITAL Caviar Black 500GB, antec P180 case (extra 120mm fan and 80mm fan), Corsair HX Series 620W: ASSEMBLED June 2009

With the P180 and the GTX you will be required to remove your top hard drive drive bay. Not really a problem as you still have room for another 4 down at the bottom, but something to consider non-the-less.
Yeah, some PSU's with shorter wire's don't fit the 'PSU at the bottom' style, but most do, would have thought someone would maintain some kind of compatibility list for if it fits.
You might like the Antec 900. Looks like one of the better air cooled cases on the market right now.

cases are always about functionality, that p180 or the antec 900 would both be good choices if they're up to what you need! as far as the LCD monitor, check out Hanns G as well, they've been getting some good buzz here
