@ motherboards.orgASUS has an interesting board here with the Z8PE-D12X. The motherboard can take all current Intel Xeon CPUs including the recently released 56xx series that have 6 cores with HyperThreading. The inclusion of features including Flex-E, PIKE and the ability to have two workstation video cards installed is excellent. The inclusion of the ASMB3 IKVM Upgrade Kit is a definite plus on this side. Workstation boards need to balance energy usage and the Z8PE-D12X does just that with the EPU. The inclusion of onboard graphics allows the user to save money on video cards. Overall this is a very well designed motherboard for the server environment and it can hold its own in this genre. For those wanting quality and a name they can trust the new Asus Z8PE-D12X is a very solid choice.
