Realtek codec issue

In the linked article Analog Devices and Creative Labs make claims that Realtek’s high definition audio solutions do not render EAX or EAX2 audio

I use Realtek's on-mobo sound with Nvidia drivers and it works fine for me. Anyone else have a problem with EAX gaming sound?
