Kingston HyperX 2x1GB 1375MHz CL7 DDR3 Kit

Image

Kingston is a market leader in the memory market, and it wasn't luck that got it to that point. As we've seen in our past reviews, Kingston has good quality products that perform well. It's HyperX line of products exemplifies this, as the HyperX portfolio contains some of Kingston's highest performing products. In our series of upcoming DDR3 memory kit reviews, I thought I would start off first with our Kingston 1375MHz rated kit. Its rated speed of DDR3-1375 is the lowest of the kits we have lined up to review, so we'll if it has anything up its sleeve.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, I love my Razer Diamondback and I recently got a (free) Razer eXactMat. To my eyes, the eXactMat is a much better choice than the Destructor. It has two different control surfaces compared to the Destructor's one and it comes with a gel wrist rest (does the Destructor? Nope.). Yes, it also has the rubberized base and a very sturdy surface (I believe it's anodized aluminum) and is oversized as well. Looking at the Destructor, the only thing it has that the eXactMat doesn't is a carrying case. A CARRYING case. That's worth the extra $15 you pay for it? I'm all for a great gaming surface but this one has me confused :-k

EDIT: OK, after a quick price check, it seems the retail on the eXactMat is, in fact, $40. Best Buy seems to be having a unadvertised sale on them at $25 so my bad. If you have a great mouse (read: 1200-2500 DPI) and can spare $25, pick one up for sure. Just don't slice the back of your thumb open trying to cut open the packaging with a hangover (yeah, me #-o )

Is it really worth it to have an expensive mouse pad? My view is this, if you have a mousepad that you get used to, it will be perfect for you, whether cloth or hard surface.

oh, and Best Buy was selling something at a discounted rate without advertising?

I'm really starting to like it, it's great for any type of precision work such as graphic design or sniping in games and it's not 'twitchy' like some mice/mousepads can be. It'd be like saying 'because I'm used to my el-cheapo mouse or el cheapo keyboard, it's perfect for me.' While that may be true for the average user, most gamers, hardcore computer geeks own an expensive mouse/keyboard because they are just better. Of course it's not for everyone but if you can, try one out before you dismiss them all together.

As for the sale, I was tired last night and to that point, I didn't know there was a sale...so yeah...
