Well, not sure how old or new this news is, but BetaNews.com posted a short and disappointing article showing how Symantec, the makers of the Norton Suite, had given Sygate's paid for and free firewall the axe!

SPF was, in my books, one of the nicest firewalls out there. It had total customization. Norton Firewall is going to be in place of that obviously, as that's Symantec's product. I feel the Norton Firewall is absolute GARBAGE compared to SPF. I had it installed on my system when I bought it and ditched it after a weeks use because it worked for crap.
The first casualty from Symantec's acquisition of Sygate in August is official: Both the free and paid version of Sygate Personal Firewall have been axed due to an overlap with Norton Personal Firewall. Users will be given a discounted upgrade path to Symantec's product, which runs $37.49 USD.
