Goodbye Sygate Personal Firewall

Well, not sure how old or new this news is, but BetaNews.com posted a short and disappointing article showing how Symantec, the makers of the Norton Suite, had given Sygate's paid for and free firewall the axe! :x SPF was, in my books, one of the nicest firewalls out there. It had total customization. Norton Firewall is going to be in place of that obviously, as that's Symantec's product. I feel the Norton Firewall is absolute GARBAGE compared to SPF. I had it installed on my system when I bought it and ditched it after a weeks use because it worked for crap.
The first casualty from Symantec's acquisition of Sygate in August is official: Both the free and paid version of Sygate Personal Firewall have been axed due to an overlap with Norton Personal Firewall. Users will be given a discounted upgrade path to Symantec's product, which runs $37.49 USD.

Holy crap. Yeah, that definately sucks. Never used the product, but I'm alsways for keeping free software alternatives around. Damn Symantec/Norton

I could tell it worked hella good, because I tried to install it on a K6-2 500 MHz, and it locked it right up when it started, so I knew it needed quicker processing power to do all that filtering and scanning. That sucks though, because I really wanted to put the X2 chip to the test when I got it.....oh well, Symantec is a bunch of idiots anyway, which is why I use Kaspersky Anti-Virus and ZoneAlarm Firewall
