Is AMD Doomed?

Something that's not mentioned in the article and seems to be overlooked is the fact that Core Duo does not currently support x86-64. That means in 6 months when you want to upgrade to Vista on your laptop you get to buy a new laptop or stick with Windows XP.
Isn't that a wonderful thought?
