Nice pictures! I do like the comparison of the old vs. the new.
So, do the lights dim in the room when you power it up?
Is your surge protector able to feed that hungry beast?

No dimming, no problems powering it up. I think of it as 10x 100W bulbs all running from the same power cable.
Haven't checked the meter to see if it spins faster though.

The PSU doesn't use 1KW of (DC) power! It's just has the potential to use that much!
