These entries are great, Good competition that's for sure :prayer:
I did a couple and it was really hard to choose which one to submit, hopefully I went with the right one :P

I chose this one because it expresses my love to paint, even though I don't get to do it too much anymore.

how are you guys getting those sweet looking graphics on the heatsink without it going over the edge?

They have the area as a separate layer (in red) you just use that as your selection.

Alternatively, if you use Fireworks or some other unsophisticated program, use Magic Wand tool to select the coloured in part of the heatsink, copy, and for every component that goes over the edge of the area, use 'Paste as Mask' and generally swap from greyscale to use as alpha. Hope this helps you if you're not using PS.

Not bad for a first timer! A little bit ambitious, I must say... But hey! There's a famous Top Gear saying:"(Fill in the blanks here at your own leisure)" Nice texture in the background, the darkened overlay is somewhat strange though...
