Yup, said in process, 6-8 weeks
"Let me assure you that you will receive your prize winning soon."
that's all I needed to hear, I can now wait patiently (is it here yet? is it here yet? is it here yet? is it here yet? is it here yet? is it here yet? is it here yet?)

It came mighty close to getting filtered, emails that start out with "Dear Contest Winner" have an unfortunate habit of usually being spam. :P

If I hadn't been on the lookout for something from ECSUSA.COM, I too might have flushed it, without opening it :x
BTW she wrote back as to my track # request

"Dear TShirt,

The shipment of your prize will be processed by next week, if not sooner. I will let you know again soon.

Sincerely,

Meng Chhun"

So the 6-8 weeks must have been from the time Apop forwarded our names[/i]

Hm, so in the next week or so I can expect the usual routine of Fedex trying to deliver when I'm not home, then giving me 3 days to arrange to get the package from their nearest shipping depot an hour away.

I'm looking forward to it. :)

I'll probably be a while before I can get any pictures though, as I can't afford new parts, so I'll have to sell one of my current rigs to pay for parts for the new one.

Edit: Whoa, Fedex phoned like 5 minutes after I posted this asking for a credit card number to pay taxes on the parcel. I don't have a credit card, but asked them about changing shipping info and was told I had to phone a different number. So, I phoned my father to get permission to use his credit card, then phoned Fedex, paid the $34 in taxes and changed the shipping address to somewhere where someone will be available. :)

in U.S. you pay taxes on things people won too...unless the guys awarding the prize pay for the tax...which rarely happens.

Will post more sometime when I have $$$ and can actually turn the mobo into a media server and the proc into a phase-change OCed gaming rig.

its not because you won it or its a gift

its the fact that when FedEx, UPS, and DHL cross over the boarder, they put a brokerage fee on it, usually killing any "free" item, its about 15-40% of the value, depending on what it is
which is why i always get my american friends to ship via USPS, they dont charge until the value is over 45 bucks...meaning, well you can figure it out
