Wonder how much they'll cost.

Might actually be a good value if the media is significantly cheaper than the drive.

It looks promising, that's for sure! It would be good for manufacturing HDD's, but my main concern is if they're going to adopt the DRM practices of BluRay and HD-DVD or not.....BluRay supposedly has the self-destructing DVD players that go out when it can't read the region code on a burnt DVD, and not to mention both of them are tough on DRM anyways....If InPhase and Hitachi don't adapt this, then I'll be tempted to buy this in a HDD implementation, otherwise, I would stay away definintely.

Sweet! I can't wait to hear more on this. I remember reading about a very similar product a couple years ago and have no clue what happened to it. Let's just hope this sticks around!
