Hard Drive Imaging Software

Post by DMB2000uk »

Does anyone have any recommendation's on a decent hard drive backup/imaging software as I've just installed RAID0 and now that I have my system set up to how I want it I'd like an image to be able fall back to.

I have a big enough additional hard drive to back up to so there's no worry there. Is it worth getting software to do this or should I just copy the entirety of my now C: drive to the storage/back up D: drive?

My personal favourite backup/imaging program is Acronis True Image. I use the Acronis suite for everything from drive backups to data recovery from a failing drive. Another alternative is Norton Ghost. Year old, and thus, "outdated" legal versions of Ghost can be found on ebay for pretty cheap. It is definitely worth using backup software. You save about half the space and can recover from a rescue cd in the case of drive failure.

This is all I use now. It's simple, it's portable (usb stick) and it's cheap, and it run's in windows or dos.
