Losing IDE drive with GSATA turned on on a p965-ds3 motherbo

ok I have the p965-ds3 gigabyte motherboard and i am trying to install 2-200gb SATAII drives for the main drives, 2-500gb SATA II drives on the GSATA raid controller, and 1 250gb IDE drive on the ide controller. I cant seem to fidn the IDE drive once i have the 2 500gb drives on the GSATA connectors

I do NOT have it in raid - was thinking about doing a stripe to hols some of my dvd collection to play around the house, but I am a REAL Raid newbie and am a bit paranoid about losing everything :)

How can I have the 4 sata drives installed and the 1 ide drive at the same time?

oh and bios I have the main sata to the AHPI ( ahci, achi, something like that ) and the Gsata controller i tried on that setting and on the RAID/IDE setting with nothing working :(

BIOS sees the drive, it shows up on every screen as it loads but then windows doesnt include it! Like the red-headed step-child. :)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Mike

Think I might try and stripe them just to see for myself if it works good enough - If I lose anything I can always rerip from my dvds.

Ok, the only way to keep the IDE drive visable is to change the GSATA to all IDE, then it works

go figure. So I guess I will transfer all the stuff from the IDE to the SATA and throw the IDE into another computer.
