In preparation for my new Intel build forthcoming I went ahead and purchased one of these today:

Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 750GB 7200 RPM 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
The reviews I have seen on this put it pretty close to Raptors in performance.

And, since I want a to add some zip and extra capacity to my MacBook Pro, I also ordered this:
Seagate Momentus 7200.2 160GB (SATA) 7200RPM Mobile Hard Drive
This ought to be a joy to install!

750GB... i need a couple of those in my HTPC... I got a 750GB Western Digital in the HTPC - Western Digital Caviar RE2 WD7500AYYS 750GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive and love it, but the girlfriend keeps it filled up with content. I swear she doesn't watch half the shows she records.

Nah, I have about 6 HDD's laying around here for storing pictures and stuff which suck up HDD capacity.
