Guys 'n' Gals,

A month or so ago I tried to plug my USB pen into my IBM-T61 to download some photos. The Usb pen said it was being charged but the Notebook seems to have no inkling that it's connected. I can't force it to pick it up when it can't see anything there at all. I've not been able to connect it to the PC since.

Can anyone suggest what might (not) be happening?

Thanks,all

Charged? lol, If by that you mean that the light came on then thats ok (they don't have any batteries in them to charge).

The USB drive hasn't been exposed to conditions it doesn't like, i.e. getting very wet or cold or hot, has it?

If the USB drive still lights up when plugged in, you should find the my computer icon, right click and select manage, then drop down to 'disk management' and see if your USB drive is showing up just without a drive letter (aka unmounted). If it is there then right click it on the bottom capacity bars and select 'change drive letters and paths', choose a letter that is not in use and apply (click through the warnings if it has any).

Post back with your results.

Welcome to the forums btw.
