I have a 3Ware RAID controller that's PCI-X and have been running it for quite some time in a PCI slot. I'm planning on rebuilding my server using parts from my current gaming rig once my new parts get here. How much of a performance hit am I taking by running a PCI-X card in a PCI slot? Should I consider changing out to something like this SuperMicro board?

I have a Asus socket 775 mobo with a PCI-X slot. I'm willing to trade for something.
