About time they came up with a bigger drive. I agree, it will cost a mint. Personally, I don't think it's worth it at all. Maybe your game load times will be better but most aren't that bad to begin with. Unless you are doing something with a lot of HD data xfer...meh.

~375euro for the server version!!!

I'm guessing ~340euro for the gamer version.......

~700euro for less than 300GB of a Raid 0 setup :shock:

It'd be better if they offered it in 300 Gig. 150 isn't much when I get nearly the same read time from my 7200 RPM drives with 250Gigs.

well on another note, most people use raptors as thier main drive for windows and use other hard drives for games and other data. So even then 80gigs can be a bit much let alone 150. I can see where 150 is nice because people can put games and windows all on 1 drive. But 300 as a main drive is a lot!!! People are starting to realize that multiple drives is the way to go for redundency purposes. Plus think about having to reformat 300 gigs worth of stuff.....Well... on a raptor that would be ubar fast! LOL

Hopefully the "gamer" version will be a little cheaper when that comes out.

Storage Review.com have it already.....

http://www.storagereview.com/articles/2 ... DFD_1.html

:edit:
http://komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=316737&cks=PRL -> sold-out already....

It looks like it keeps up with and beats some SCSI drives!!!:shock:
I thinks that's the goal for WD as they don't make SCSI drives, not like Seagate who have to make sure not to hurt their own expensive SCSI market.
