Re: HDD to SSD migration
Acronis True Image is what I've been using personally and on the test systems for years. Highly recommended if you are going to be cloning.

Re: HDD to SSD migration
i've been using EaseUS ToDo Backup, their freeware version since 2008 and have had zero issues with it - the interface is dummy proof, and haven't had a backup corrupt or fail. I'd gone thru all the others, starting with Acronis and had two acronis backups that proved to be worthless causing me to re-install my complete system (I run an internet business from my home).
Plus the EaseUS software does a quicker job - running to an external SSD hard drive thru a USB 3 port, cloning 177 GB takes 1.5 to 1.75 hours. When i went to a new mobo with additional sata 6gb ports, running OS SSD to internal SSD, complete "sector by sector" clones take 28-30 minutes. Samsung's migration software, Seagates version, windows backup utility, all the others all seem to want 3 to 8 hours to do a complete backup or clone on my system
fwiw
