I just bought a Canon SD500 digital camera. I purchased a 1GB SDcard. I read a review about 1GB cards that said 1GB is more than most cameras need. Is there any problems that might arise from my use of a 1GB SDcard in my camera?

Nope...and it looks like that is a 7MP camera so you'll need a card that size or larger. You'd be surprised how quickly it can fill up if you take pictures at full resolution. Taking movies uses a lot of space too. I have a 2GB in my 3.5MP camera. No worries.

I have had a 1 gb. card in my nikon 3.somthing megapixal camera with no problems (infact, i need to get the pictures from 4th of july off of it...) I take movies and pictures at the highest res. with plenty of room. if you go on a long trip, then you might run into a problem, but iwth the prices of SD cards these days, you could probably pick one up for ~10-20 bucks

I got a 2gb for mine before we went to Kansas!!
more is better, up to 2gb - seems like a LOT of cameras wont take the 4gb ( mine included

oh one other bite of info I have learned - go for the FAST cards!!! like the 150X speed cards - it is AMAZING how much quicker it takes pictures compared to a standard speed card!!!!!!! I mean AMAZING!
standard card - 1 pic every second and a half
fast card - I was getting anywhere between 4 and 7 depending on how bright it was!!! PER SECOND!!
