Nvidia Chief Executive Jen-Hsun Huang Sells 186,000 Shares of Common Stock

NEW YORK (AP) -- The chief executive of graphic chip maker Nvidia Corp. exercised options for and then sold 186,000 shares of stock under a prearranged trading plan, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday.

In a Form 4 filed with the SEC, Jen-Hsun Huang reported he exercised the options Wednesday and Thursday for $3.11 apiece and then sold all the shares the same days for $19.17 to $20.45 apiece.

The stock sale was conducted under a prearranged 10b5-1 trading plan which allows a company insider to set up a program in advance for such transactions and proceed with them even if he or she comes into possession of material nonpublic information.

Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

Nvidia is based in Santa Clara, Calif.

near future intel annouces gpus to fight nvidia.. nvidia share price goes down more

nvidia ceo buys back nvidia shares at a substantially reduced price

then nvidia announces new gpus several generations ahead of intel (which already readied back before ATI HD3800 series but nvidia held off the release to prolong G80/G92 product life cycle through product refreshes) blitzs intels offerings and nvidia share price goes through the roofing. Netting him a nice profit

I think the context of how large a percentage of his shares this sell was would help. Selling some shares to get some pocket money is one thing, but $3.7M is a bit more than that. Especially with all sorts of next-gen launches coming this fall...
