Is this what happens when you plug it into your TV? i assume you are using S-Video? Either that or you have a DVI to HDMI converter. How ever if you are using the S-Video you msut consider yourself lucky to get any picture at all, every time i plug my 8600GTS into the TV through DVI i get no picture.. As for a resolution i would say check that the DVI plug on your graphics card is the same as that on your TV.

All of my suggestions assume that you have this problem while plugged into the tv. If not and this is what you get when you plug into a normal Computer monitor, whether it be CRT or LCD, i would assume that while you cleaned the dust out of your computer case that you either bumpt the graphics card causing it to have a faulty connection or dust got into it.

ankush89, please don't make duplicate posts in the forum about the same problem. It's not going to help you get answers any quicker.

I am stll tryin to figure out how typing "nye" is faster than "any" . .

but in all seriousness i would try to remove the card from your case. clean it off with some compressed air, also the PCi-e slot (make sure your computer is off). uninstal the drivers, then run driver cleaner pro to get rid of them all. then get the new ones from Nvidia directly, and install those.

Are you having the problems as soon as your start the computer? Are you overclocking the card?

that's ok i had to read it overnight then read it again now.anyhow..i saw that same thing happen to an old card of mine..it probably on its way to heaven. because it was either overclocked too high...or it was too hot...in your case..it prolly blew itself due to the dust storm..hell even try reseating it in case you bumped it..you might have done that since ya uses a brush..shouldn't use one tho..can of air will be sufficient unless it was the Sahara desert in there..either way last time i saw something just like that..it was due to heat or overclock issues...if not both(and that was on a geforce 4200)

SOooooooo...did you reseat the card? and as said..it could be from overclocking or HEAT since you had so much dust before...and if you are playing things just fine with no driver then maybe you didn't clean out all of the left over driver files..regardless if all fails so far, try another video card in your system..if that works fine then the 8600 possibly went bad..if the other card doesn't work then something else is wrong

I agree with inspectahace. If it was playing a movie after you removed the driver, it wasn't fully removed. Without a driver it defaults to 640x480 with i believe 4 bit color. The movie quality wouldn't be very good.

Define "uninstalling" lol..just uninstalling won't get rid of the files..u gotta do that, then use a driver removal program..I use Driver Sweeper..Works like a charm for me(use that in safe mode, though i'm not sure if it matter in safe mode or not)...also besides "cleaning" it, have you reseated the card yet?.. hell if you both want, use ATItool...it stresses the card to see if there's any faults..if u see yellow lines anywhere within 30 minutes..somethin isn't right..usually it's the card if that happens(usually)

well dude..I'd say try another video if you haven't yet...if that works then your 8600 bit the dust..if the other video card doesnt' work then might be the motherboard..really starting to seem like it died(if the slot for the video card on the motherboard hasn't)

I should've clarified what I meant by "reseating" the card.. my apologies
