sli graphic issues

Post by Robilar »

Greetings. i am new to this forum and to SLI. I upgraded my rig to have SLI but I am getting a horizontal green line and a wider vertical line when running applications that have profiles in the nvidia drivers (3dmark03, thief deadly shadows). No other game or application gives me issues and the benchmarks from 3dmark03 seem to reflect the dual card performance expected. I e-mailed gigabyte (the video cards maker) and got a response that was pretty much useless. I have also checked the Asus forums (my board maker) and found nothing of use. The green bars don't seem to cause performance issues and the programs run fine (other than the annoying bar). when I disable multi-gpu support and run the apps, the green bars are gone (and so is my enhanced performance)

I would appreciate any advice if anyone has encountered similar problems. Perhaps it could be a setting in the GPU panel I am not aware of.

System:

Windows XP Pro SP 1 (all patches)
Nvidia Drivers 77.76
Forceware Drivers current

AMD Athlon San Diego (939 1 MB Cache, 90 nm core)
Asus A8N-SLI Premium board (1007.002 bios)
2 x 512 MB Corsair Twinx3200XL Dual channel
gigabyte 6600GT PCI-E video cards x2 SLI
WD Raptor 74GB
SB Live Audigy 2 ZX
NEC 3520AW DVD-RW
Antec Truepower II (24 pin native power) 550W

first I would make sure you have the most recent drivers, second I would make sure the cards are properly powered and cool. Third I would check your SLI bridge, fourth I would make sure that the cards are flashed with the same bios. If all that fails, go to Driverheaven.net and download DriverCleaner Pro and uninstall the drivers, and then reinstall.

Welcome to the forums!

Why aren't you running SP2 and double check and make sure your cards are running at the same MHz on the clock and memory speeds.
