I just ordered an EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS from NewEgg, and just realized that my power supply is only 250W.
I looked through all my stuff and found a brand new, unused Power Supply. This one:

Can somebody tell me if this would work?
I'm not using a 6-pin connector, I'm using 2 4-pins.

Re: 8600 GTS Power Supply
It should work, though personally I would go with a PSU with a 6 pin connector.

Re: 8600 GTS Power Supply
I know a 6-pin is the best way to go, but I have to make due with what I already have. Thanks for the quick reply!

I built a computer for a family member about 3 years ago and the case came with that power supply. It still works today and he has the 8600gt

Re: 8600 GTS Power Supply
yeah, thats a decent enough power supply for your card but that is a very low-end card u hav there so i am pretty sure it wont require a 6-pin connector let alone a four pin unlesss u plan to upgrade to a 9 series nvidia card. its weird but i typed in 8600 gts in newegg's search bar but it kept showing a sparkle vga cooler
BTW, couldve gone with a better card but maybe you are on a tight budget or maybe not much of a gamer?
