Slow 7900GTX SLI...

Post by Sovereign »

Is there any possible way to accelerate 3D rendering in 3ds max when all you have under the hood are dual 7900GTXs? I know they're not meant for professional work, but is there any imaginable way (short of new card or cards) to cut down on render times? My 6800NU was faster... (and no I didn't softmod it) :axe:

I know it sounds silly, but take one card out and try the benchmark again!

SLI is usually better for the higher resolutions...single cards sometimes outperform them on lower res.

That and running two cards uses more of the processor... that's why running SLI and Crossfire lower the CPU scores in some benchmarks like 3DMark06

Would disabling one card in hardware do it? I don't feel like opening my case...*notes pre-college final laziness, goes off to disable one card.*
