quite sad, but at least now you have the option to upgrade or go back to what you know was tried and true!
after your mourning, which card are you looking at?

dunno. what ever i can afford. moneys pretty tight atm i thnk the pc is gonna be outta commision for a lil. im looking at 2 6800 gts on ebay. though.

Not a good idea ^_^
I'm pretty sure that a 7600GT beats the 6800Ultra. So get out of the 6 series already
(Plus they use a bit less power)

i agree- stay away from the 6800 - for a little more than the cost of two of those you could get a 7950

Yes this is quite true, a 7600GT will outperform or evenly tie a 6800Ultra. What about XFX GeForce 8600GT

Edit: Sorry, I'm afraid it is not AGP though... AGP cards tend to cost much more for the same performance as ther equivalent PCIe cards. You can find some extremely cheap >$50 AM2 boards and processors though these days...
