well im using the system that is in the tag, but the problem is i get at times under 23FPS!! i mean heck this is supposed to be a "high end card" running a two year old game!... can anyone tell me whats going on. (running @ 1440x900 with 3xAA on "very high" settings) it just drops under 23FPS in some places for no apparent reason, these "low fps places" look exactly like the rest of the world, for example i might just be driving somewhere then all of a sudden my fps drops down to 20 from its previous state of swinging between 60-150fps

P.S ive got alot of air flow in my case so the card runs @ 57C idle and 73Cish load so i don't think temperatures are an issue

it's more than a year since i've played through that game, but I recall it had some glitches... I'm guessing you have all the game patches installed and everything? if you disable AA altogether is the frame rate smooth or does it have a big drop still.

with no AA the fps stays above 57 and usually stays between 65-79 with the occasional 100+fps(or well it has for the last 4min even in spots where it used to fall below 25, but this has to be a game/software related problem right? it cant be that the vid card i just paid over 400dollars(CAD) for cant play a 2year old game with AA? also when its raining and im driving my fps goes to under 20 (with aa on)

Did you turn off the "Frame Limiter" in the video options menu?

ive already made a few threads asking about the 8800GTS so i decided to just ask the question here instead of making a new thread, okay well right now ( the past week there has been a large drop in ambient temps) so my OCed 8800GTS is runnin @ 55C idle and 70Cish load. the problem is, whenever i try to go into NTune after i core set above 685MHz (roughly) i get the blue screen of death, even though i can play games for hours on this setting(and i checked temps right before i tried NTune and they were 55C) is this a software glitch?

I do recall glitches in pretty much all GTA games since the third one, GTA III being the worst. It would be quite laggy no matter what hardware you had. I think this is the issue.

I know its not what you want to hear, but have 8800gts as well and i am running it just fine max fps. I remember there was something, i will have think about it. I dont quite remember what it was, but i do recall performance being bad and doing something to fix it, but i cant remember what i did. LOL
