no catagory for monitors!!

Post by hercules71185 »

Move where ever you want, but, can someone help out. I just bought a monitor its not here yet, but, will be in 3 days. How bad is it to run out of native resolution.
I have an 8600gt and obviously not able to run at my native resolution of 1680 x 1050 on new games. So, lowering my res down a lil will it kill my graphics? or is the better bet to leave the res up and turn the settings from max to medium?

I'd run it at the native res' and lower the graphical settings.

It definitely looks sharper at native res, but if you can put up with a little blur then the lower res's will work fine too.

Personally, I'd go with the native and less eye candy, but have a play and see if you can cope with the other way round. The blur is less annoying when it is a game in motion rather than your desktop being blurry.

I figured most games on ps2 and xbox aren't ran in 1080 or even 720 so resolution didn't seem to be much of a factor on high motion games. But, if the monitor looks horrid lower then I have a problem.

came in early
just for anyone who happens to find this monitor. buy it. its sick. no ghosting. watched transformers at 1680 x 1050 and was GREAT! a downscales 1080p. But, WOW It was AMAZING haha. I wish I could show you how decent the monitor looks. but, its GREAT. Contrast is 1000:1. looks better than the 1500:1 envision I had before. Just so people know the customer service difference. I contacted acer and asked if the monitor came with a dvi ahead of time they said no. But, they sent one to me without question or even having to pay shipping. They just said no I'm sorry what is your address. And that was it. BAM on my step the day after my monitor came in it was here.
Now envision. I sent my monitor back. shipping was 20 dollars. they monitor was bad and un fixable so my options were. Pay 30 dollars for them to ship it back in 4 weeks. (this is after 4 months already) Or they told me refund me 210. I paid 230 for the monitor and 20 for shipping back for something that wasn't my fault. Got pissed and they finally just sent me a credit for 250 :-D but, the wait wasn't worth it.
-1 for envision
+10 for acer
