Well I have a Nvidia Mx/Mx 400 video card. (yea I didnt mention that name before.. lol )
And it works ok with simple games but in more advanced games (not really advanced, something like "Sacred" or "Hitman (yes even in codename 47 it makes problems)") the graphic goes crazy and changes colors and after few seconds it shows black screen with colorful lines flashing... (the game is stil l working and I can still play... if I only could see)
like this on Sacred (but it took it a while to go crazy like that, I played fine for an half hour)-

Does anyone know what the hell is wrong with it?
Thanks.

could be bad or overheating memory chips... Make sure the heat sink fins are clean and you might want to remove the heat sink and apply new thermal paste if you feel up to the task. If that doesn't work I'd suggest upgrading GPUs!

I second the overheating idea. Also those cars are awfully outdated, im assuming its an AGP card, if so then try this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150269 or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130099

The first one is a good bargain but will be way better then what you have now, the second one is probably the top AGP card available.

I vote overheating too since I own two MX400 and one MX200 nVidia cards.

My MX400 needed a fan just to get it working in my system due to heating issues. If you have any 40mm fans around from the early P2 or 486 days, you would be in good shape, else find a RS for one.

Also, if you plan on upgrading, a good card that will play most games without breaking the $100 budget is the
GeForce 6800LE 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card
TV-Out = S-Video / Composite Out
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814136022

or the
TV-Out = HDTV / S-Video Out
GeForce 6800XT 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814141038

The cards are really the same except for the TV Out port. If that's not an issue, go for the better priced card.

Any card above the nVidia 6600 can play the latest Need For Speed: Pro Street Edition that was just released. :P

I agree, an updated card won't always break the bank, something simple that was made in the last 3 years would be a serious upgrade!
