srry if this particular Q has been asked bfore; that having been said, im building a new "rig" and im not sure wich gfx card to get??
I'll be running a 42" 1900x1200 monitor and a 3.0dual core processor.
From wut I've read, i'm leaning towards a gts...however, it seems I may be able to oc the gt enough to make it work better? or maybe not at this high a resolution? any help??

Is the 8800 GTS a 320MB, 512MB or a 640MB card?

srry, my information is not complete/accurate.
24" monitor that is 1900x1200
it is the newer 512 gts i am considering.
from wut i can gather, the gts starts to perform better at higher resolutions. does the gt overclocking catch up to that? or because of pipelines or wutever else the gts has over the gt, does the gts still outperform this super overclock and cooled gt?

A gts (g92) will average 5-10% (max 14%) higher performance over a gt (g92) .

Ive also compared my gt setup to my bro's gts setup , and the article mentioned seems to be fairly accurate .

this link is very helpful. however, im specifically asking about the evga model of gt w/ the extra cooling.....it seems like i wud be able to overclock it even more than the one from the extremely helpful article...heh. sounds like im going to go w/ the gts, it costs the same as the akimbo gt. thanks a lot for the help.

Go with the GTS 512. I don't know what you've been reading, but the cooling solution on the GTS is a winner. I can overclock my gpu to 800mhz using Rivatuner to boost the fan speed to 60% no problem. Its not the heat that stops this card, its the limit in the card itself. So even with extra cooling, the GT is out of its league against the GTS, 112 vs. 128 stream processors.

this is wut i suspected. stream processors and "other" advantages makes the gts a better choice than the gt w/ the cooler, specially considering they cost the same...NOW, how much power do i need for an sli system?!
