Thats not that bad a card, chances are you would loose more money trying to upgrade than just sticking it out until there is a real advantage to upgrading. IE going from a 9600pro to 6800gt/X800XL. you would be spending alot for only a small increase in performance.

You're saying that going from a 9600pro to a 6800gt/X800XL is only a small increase?!?! I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one...infinitevalence wrote:Thats not that bad a card, chances are you would loose more money trying to upgrade than just sticking it out until there is a real advantage to upgrading. You could argue that an X600pro 128 is roughly equal to the performance of a 9600pro 128 and if you look through the following review, you will notice that the X800pro and 6800GT cards are roughly twice as good as the X600pro in prettymuch every benchmark and game at only 1024x768 resolution with NO AA and AF enabled. With "eyecandy" (4xAA and 8xAF) and still only at 1024x760, the performance gap grows more. THEN, when you increase the resolution to 1600x1400 with eyecandy, well, I'll let the fps charts speak for themselves

EDIT: Just noticed that maybe you were using the 9600pro -> 6800GT/X800XL as an example of a worthwhile upgrade; in which case I would have to strongly agree with you

Sorry for the confusion.
