Hey guys,
Am I right to assume that the actual performance difference between an overclocked 280 compared to a stock speed 280 would be minimal at best or would it be worth spending an extra $20-$30 to go with an OC'd version? i wouldn't think there would be much difference(other than price) but ya never know...mostly goin to be used for everyday use, gaming, folding etc..

If you can, wait til the end of August for the 280+ which will have a 55nm processor. I'm not sure if it will be much faster than the original, even with it being overclocked, but it will most likely have better temps.

you can overclock yourself to the same or better speeds than the ones you can buy overclocked

so are they gonna call it a GTX 280+? Or will they replace it all together?

Yes, but I'm not sure if this card is the reason why they dropped the prices on the other 200 series cards. If it is, the 280+ better beat ATI's 4870X2 by a long shot.
